Tips to help flatten your stomach

Here are some tips and advice to help you flatten your stomach;

1. Walk or jog regularly (about 3-4 times a week)

2. Don’t just concentrate on exercise diet is important too. Switch from white bread to brown, try more fruit and vegetables and add nuts to your diet too.

3. Crunches are a great way to help tone and work the stomach area. Here is how to do a basic crunch;

  • Lie on your back with hands by your side and knees bent.
  • Raise yourself up using the abs towards your knees. As you come back down inhale and when you go towards your knees exhale.
  • Repeat as many times as you can.

4. Set meal times and chew food properly as this will help you to digest it better.

5. Drink plenty of water. Many times we think we are hungry but are in fact thirst so reach for the water first.

6. If you want snacks in between meal times choose the healthier option of fruit or if you like nuts. Almond nuts in particular are good.

7. You don’t need to completely give up ‘naughty’ foods like chocolate just limit them. Usually with some people when you say you can’t have something they want it more so it’s better this way.

8. If you feel hungry then change your meal portions. Take smaller meals throughout the day so you don’t feel hungry.

9. Buy a DVD workout preferably Pilates or belly dancing. Pilates uses the midsection as does belly dancing.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you will lose belly fat quickly, there are many people who claim this. The truth is if you want to lose weight you need a safe method to do so. Just exercise to tone that area and being careful about what you eat. Good luck!

I would also suggest drinking green tea to help the body get rid of saturated fat
