Get fit by dancing
58There are so many different ways to lose weight. Joining a gym, yoga….the list is endless. There is one fun way of working out, there is so much variety, it’s almost inexpensive and in some cases completely free! What am I talking about? Dance of course.
Dancing can be called an aerobic workout. There are numerous styles to choose from so there is always something to suit you. Here are just a few examples;
Belly Dancing
Belly dancing is growing fast in popularity. Whether you are an absolute beginner or more advanced, there are plenty of local classes or DVDs for you to try. A good workout and a great way to tone the abs and upper body.
Hip hop dancing
Hip hop too has risen in popularity and is attracting many people from different age groups. Most of the moves provide a full body workout.
Ballet
Ballet is a relatively new concept for me but this is great fun to try. As well as working most if not all of your body it helps improve and tone your body.
Bollywood Dance
Bollywood is India’s film industry. Indian films are vibrant and include songs and dances. Bollywood dance is fun to try with exotic dance movements which are a mix of both east and west.
Salsa
Salsa is fun for everyone. You get to learn sexy moves and tone your body at the same time!
If these dance forms are not what you fancy then don’t worry there are plenty more styles to choose from.
Free way to lose weight.
I did say that you could dance for free and it is true. Just put on some of your favourite tracks that you love and boogie! Let your body move as it wishes and make sure you use both arms and legs and twist those hips.
Another great thing is that you can just tune into music videos and copy what the stars are doing. You could ‘borrow’ some of their moves. Good luck and have fun!
